A Saturday in Uptown
We attended ANAK TnK's anniversary Mass in Quezon City, but did not stay for lunch. QC's too far from home. If we stayed for a few more hours, we would have a hard time with the bad weather and bad traffic combination. It was a long drive to Uptown Mall in BGC.

Lunch at Fei Fei
We were starving already. I wanted to try Fei Fei, an HK-style restaurant that I have passed by in my two or three visits in this mall. This was the first time that I saw the "by Choi Garden" bit in their signage so I convinced Mama that the food must be good since we used to eat at Choi Garden.
- Pork and shrimp siomai
- Noodles with porkchop
- Chicken in scallion oil (with sweet dip, not pictured)
- Hong Kong-style milk tea (iced) and Coke Zero

Huge servings. The table near us seated four aunties. Old Chinese music was playing in the background while they were voicing out how surprisingly big their soup bowls were 😅 Anyway, Mama and I also struggled to finish our food huhu. I ate so much I could burst. No, I just needed coffee.
The foreigner sitting by the window ordered fried rice and hot tea. Maybe that's the way we should do it next time. Maybe. Speaking of hot tea, this restaurant also offered hot milk tea! I was able to try that in Taiwan, but only by accident. I filled out the form incorrectly, probably assumed that all milk tea are iced. BUT, it was good. You should give it a try. 👌

Roots Collective
Our artsy finds continue in the Roots Collective. This store supports local brands and independent entrepreneurs. They carry a wide range of goods, like food, clothing, art materials, candles, soap, and travel souvenirs. I look for additions to my washi tape collection.

Secondhand Books
Right around the bend was Biblio, a shop selling pre-owned books for discounted prices. I prefer buying brand-new books, but there are times when an old title is no longer reprinted. Shops like Biblio is one way to check for those elusive titles. They also have an online form for requesting titles, but I have not tried it yet.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
Tambay with Mama at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - Uptown Mall. Our first time in this branch. Of course, we ordered our usual drinks. I showed her my mood board for the next creative things I wanted to do. She was patient with me. 😅
More people started coming in, getting their coffee after lunch, and possibly taking shelter from the heavy rain.

Muji's Stamp Station
Muji was our last stop before going home. I walked right up to the stamp station and tested some of the stamps. A bit of ink. I pulled out my stamp notebook and pressed the big ribbon stamp against the paper. I let the stamp rest in the same position for a while. When I finally removed it, I got a big new red stamp. 🎀 Filled up another page 👌

My alphabet wood stamps were loose in their original box. Every time I would use them, I had to re-arrange them first so it would be easier for me to find the correct stamp. I also constantly referred to the label on the box to check how the M or W was supposed to look like.
Mama showed me a pillbox that I could use as a container for the stamps. I could easily put four stamps in a partition. They were still a bit loose inside the box so I added small pieces of carton to separate the letters. I also added a mark on the top-right of each stamp so I would know immediately which side up is correct. This pillbox made stamping a whole lot easier. All problems solved.
Also, we walked by a DIY moss terrarium workshop. I was pleasantly surprised that it was filled with men silently working on their glass jars. Maybe I'll try making one next time. For now, it was time to go home and rest. 🌱
