Ocha no Jikan Blind Box

This is "Ocha no Jikan" (Tea Time), one of the miniature tablewares from the Nakagawa Masahichi Shoten x Kenelephant blind box set.

Everything’s based on actual wares!

  • The silver box contains rice crackers from Ishikawa
  • The vermillion Echizen lacquerware from Shitsurindo
  • The cast iron teapot from Oigen Foundry

The Japanese are proud of their craftsmanship, as they should be! Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten has a great guide showcasing crafts from different regions of Japan.

This one's a travel souvenir from a friend, Colleen. She didn't know I collect small teacups! It was a nice, fun surprise for both of us. ♥️

At first, I didn't know where the silver "cup" should go, BUT I looked at the ACTUAL kettle. It's the strainer for the tea leaves 🍵

For scale. It's a tiny teapot! But look at the details

Visited Shitsurindo's blog about this. That's only when I learned about the logo at the bottom of the cup 🤣
