Our last stop was the Kapitolyo Art Space. It's a small art gallery that is a few blocks away from Brixton. They have exhibits and workshops.

The ground floor displays paintings and sculptures. The second level has more paintings plus a coffee shop and a veranda. Most of the people who visited same time as us just went straight to the coffee shop. I believe they were regulars.

On Sundays, they also host a weekend market. We went on a Saturday so we missed that. But that's for the better I guess. We incurred some significant expenses because of the art fair.

September's Exhibits

There were two ongoing exhibits when we dropped by.

  • "Unfurled" by Valerie Teng. It's a solo show filled with lucky cats.

  • "Mutational Loop" featuring visual artists Paulo Amparo, Mark Coleen, Kris Jan Gavino, Ronante Maratas, Melvin Rubiano, Andrew Tan, and Lance Kirby Yaneza. This exhibit explores creative experimentation.

Arts and Beans

Robbie had a pistachio cookie and a strawberry matcha drink. I had grilled cheese with mildly spicy salsa. I liked it. 🧀🍅 I paired it with an iced mocha. Yes hehe my second coffee this afternoon! 😆

I am drawn to bright oranges. Also, I like the blue "excuse me" bell.

Still not giving up on this keychain frame.

I have yet to explore more of the creative hubs and coffee shops near home. It's just funny how we miss places that are closer and more accessible to us. All this time I have been thinking about visiting Escolta again, but yea maybe I should widen my scope. Convert new to familiar.
